Emerson's unique playing style has helped lead the way in resurrecting the traditions of vintage Hawaiian music.  Hawaiian Tangos, Hulas & Blues pushes Hawaiian music into a new territory - world territory.  It is an acoustic musical journey where American roots meets traditional Hawaii in the company of some spicy Latin & Caribbean influences.

Emerson stretches the limits exploring the Hawaiian slack key & steel guitar's huge range of possibilities. He is a dynamo - one of the most powerful pickers in the Hawaiian music scene today.  Beyond Emerson's skillful playing, he is an accomplished songwriter and a sweet voiced singer.  Five original compositions are included.

Emerson's core style always reflects the steel guitars' grassroots Hawaiian origins of a century ago. He taps into classic jazz and blues era influences as well as Latin styles, completing a cultural circle from the first Portuguese ukulele players and Spanish Vaquero guitarists. He is an artist who possesses a deep appreciation for the historical significance and heritage of Hawai'i nei.
