  • one of the first of this model produced
        by Gretsch

  • this particular guitar traveled throughout the
        world on the high seas aboard numerous
        Navy ships as the personal guitar of a
        career officer

  • formed spruce top

  • dark sunburst finish

  • maple back, sides and neck

  • rare "moccosin" unbound headstock with
        stenciled "T-roof logo" (Gretsch across top
        in the T and New Yorker horizonally below
        the T), and with a vertical double stripe below
        that down to the nut

  • single-ply creme binding on top and back

  • rosewood fretboard with large "block" inlays
        and single-ply binding

  • no pickguard

  • adjustable rosewood bridge

  • chrome tailpiece

  • open strip tuners with black celluloid buttons

  • introduced 1945+/-; discontinued 1970
