1932 National "Duolian"
Single-Cone Resonator

        than any other guitar in the collection

  • extensive cigar butt burns on peghead slots

  • brass body with crinkle greenish-grey ("frosted
        duco") painted finish

  • extensive play wear on finish

  • straight-cut f-holes on upper bouts

  • 9 diamond-shaped hole-clusters on the resonator
        cover plate

  • spun aluminum resonator with wooden "biscuit"
        bridge

  • maple neck

  • unbound 12-fret ebonized-maple fingerboard with
        pearloid dot inlays

  • slotted headstock with "National Duolian"
        impressed on at the top

  • no pickguard

  • open, side-mounted, strip tuners with black
        Bakelite buttons

  • introduced 1930; discontinued 1940
