1940's Rickenbacher
"Electro" "B-6" Lapsteel

  • this guitar was used by Ken Emerson on the
        original Emerson Brothers album, and on Moe
        Keale's album South Sea Island Magic (which
        has been reissued)

  • this guitar was also used by Ken when playing
        with Gabby Pahanui, Sol Bright, Sr. (the
        Hawaiian cowboy), Raymond Kane, the Kalima
        Brothers, and other Hawaiian legends

  • the "Hawaiian sound" 1 1/4" horseshoe pickup
        with a fat, round tone

  • black bakelite body (bakelite replaced the
        earlier metal bodies for less feedback, and the
        bakelite was hollowed out and covered with the
        molded metal creme plates to reduce the
        weight)

  • bolt on neck

  • T-shaped aluminum logo plate

  • non-original knobs

  • chrome open-backed tuners

  • introduced 1935; discontinued 1955
